UPDATE YOUR INTERNATIONAL CONTACTS BY ADDING THE ACCESS CODE AT THE BEGINNING
Find out the appropriate pause character for your particular phone. Check your phone's user manual to learn the letter or character that indicates a pause. Different telephones use different characters. Your network operator should also be able to advise you if necessary.
Use a comma as a pause if you need to try to guess the pause key. The comma is the most common key for pausing. Some phones use the star character (*) to indicate a pause, and some use the pound (#) key to indicate a pause. A few phones use the letter "p" to indicate a pause.
Nokia Phones:
A 'p' should appear after * has been pressed 3 times: e.g. 0207 124 6666 (*** will show a 'p')
Siemens/Panasonic Phones:
A '+' should appear after 0 has been pressed and held.
Motorola / Ericsson Phones / Sony:
A 'p' should appear after * has been pressed and held.
Edit your international contact by adding the callcrew access number (usually 0207 124 6666) followed by at least one pause character then save the new number including the pauses back to your phone book.
Dial the number to test. Listen as your phone dials to make sure that it is pausing long enough, and at the right times. If a single pause isn't long enough, you can add more pauses in a row.
